Who We Are
Alamahika is a passion project that aims to tell one of the dying art forms in the Philippines— literature. We are dedicated to preserving and celebrating our cultural identity through keeping Philippine literature alive. We believe that by keeping this alive, today’s generation can pass down these values and traditions that are vital to our cultural identity.
For this part, we will write an additional introduction of yourself or your business. This can be about your company history, success stories, or the product or services you offer. It can also tell about how you helped clients achieve their desired results.
What we aim to do
Preserve Philippine cultural identity.
Alamahika aims to ensure that Philippine folklore remains alive and a part of our heritage.
Inspire aspiring creatives.
Alamahika encourages creatives to create pieces under the theme of cultural identity.
Encourage readers to learn more about Philippine folklore.
Alamahika cultivates a deep appreciation of our rich cultural heritage making it accessible to readers.
Alamahika began as a simple class activity under Filipino Identity with the question: Which dying Philippine art forms would you preserve and how? Now, through the opportunity of MMINTER, we have established a way to preserve this dying art form.
The vibrant stories of Philippine folklore are fading from mainstream awareness. We saw that the younger generations were unfamiliar with what used to be famous alamat taught in Filipino classes. We started this project to provide an educational resource and foster a community where people could explore, learn, and share their love for Philippine folklore. We could now safeguard these stories and make them accessible to a wider audience through creating a dedicated online platform.
